My Story

“Kathy’s physical and psychological journey, in tandem with her professional background, positions her as a gifted practitioner whose problem solving tenacity and love for people inspires confidence and change” Peter. G. Morse, M.D. Toronto, Ontario, Canada

On a defining day in 1978, I suffered a skiing accident. After the bone mended, chronic traveling pain manifested throughout my body. By necessity I became a consumer of many allopathic and complementary medical services. My impairments were not visible, so I had to develop my own survival mechanisms in the midst of personal, professional and financial challenges. 1978 was also the beginning year of my Buddhist psychotherapist practice.

Known for my love of life and sense of levity, I never lost hope, much in the spirit of ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you strong’. I immersed myself in the study of the body’s soft tissues, the central nervous system and how the body is understood in a psychological context.

In February 2006 my research and persistence finally paid off when I traveled to Grenoble, France to consult with a renowned Osteopath, Dr. Jean-Pierre Barral, who was able to teach and clear my body of my constant physical and attendant psychological pain. As a professional complement to my personal work in 2006, I completed my certification in Psychosocial Factors in Rehabilitation joining the motor vehicle accident recovery team of Dr. Dan Dalton and Associates Psychological and Assessment Services.

My desire is to provide the psychological content for understanding stress and depression resulting from accident, injury and family conflicts.
